Description
The sizes of a black truffle can go from 15 to 20 grams depending on availability and its origin takes place in the beautiful Campania region (South Italy).
The Bagnoli Black Truffle (Tuber Mesentericum) also known as the Ordinary / Phoenician Black Truffle is considered among the truffles with the most intense aroma, it has a strong smell of phenol, very penetrating, which embellishes food, especially pasta dishes. Among the few truffles that retain their aroma even after cooking and can therefore also be incorporated into recipes that require particularly long preparation and cooking.
Its perfume is very intense, phenolic, tincture of iodine, which fades quickly after the harvest. Its taste can be described as intense, not very grateful and slightly bitter, which becomes pleasant when cooked. You can keep fresh truffles for about 7 days by following the instructions. Upon receipt of the package, we recommend that you remove the truffle from the packaging we have prepared for shipping and wrap it in absorbent paper or a cloth, close it in a glass jar or airtight container and place it in the refrigerator. It is important to always make sure that the paper or cloth is not damp, so we advise you to change them at least once a day until you consume the truffle. Before you can consume it, the fresh truffle must be cleaned of soil residues… we recommend cleaning it just before consuming it, so you can clean it very gently using a soft brush and a damp cloth, and when you have removed the soil residues it will be ready to be tasted!
