Starka Vodka
Szczecińska Wytwórnia Wódek specializes in the production of natural vodkas (Starka vodka) and traditional liquors that have been present on Polish tables for centuries. The brand’s headquarters in Szczecin has spacious cellars in which there is a suitable climate for long aging of alcohol. That is why the company’s portfolio includes unique liquors, such as Starka, the youngest of which is aged 10 years, and the oldest even 50 years.
The tradition of Starka spirit production dates back over 500 years. It is a traditional liquor that Poland was famous for throughout Europe in its heyday. The production of Starka began on the day of the birth of the son at the noble court – then the oak barrel with alcohol was buried in the ground, where it matured until the young nobleman married. On the day of the wedding, the barrel was dug up and alcohol was offered to the guests. So originally Starka was a wedding liquor, and its age depended on the age of the groom.
Starka from Szczecińska Fabryka Wódek was produced according to an old Polish recipe based on high-quality rye distillate. Aged for at least 40 years in oak barrels, to which it owes its noble taste, wonderful aroma and deep amber colour.
The vodka is closed in an elegant decanter, which is decorated with paints and varnishes containing 24-carat gold. The neck of the carafe is braided with cowhide and fastened with a special, gold-plated S-shaped clasp. At the bottom of the bottle there is a hand-numbered label signed by the president of Szczecińska Fabryka Wódek. The carafe is closed in a wooden box lined with felt on the inside and covered with leather on the outside. The box also includes a certificate confirming the age of the product. The box closes with antiqued metal alloy locks. The whole thing is made by hand.
A bottle of 40-year-old starka is a real pearl in the crown for collectors and experienced gourmets who dream of having the most unique bottle of Polish alcohol in their collection.
